Disinfection in the consumer and industrial markets is coming under increased regulatory pressure globally. There is a need for new chemical solutions to address these changing market conditions. These new chemistries and formulations need to be effective as a disinfectant and cleaner (for one step efficacy) and safer to use both for the environment and the consumer.

These changing demands for a new solution was the driving force behind the creation of Glyclean® D.

Glyclean® D combines efficacy, safety, and ease of formulation into one product that you can quickly get to market via sub-registration or usage as a MUP product where you own the EPA or EU registration.

PureTech Scientific is conducting ongoing research and development to expand our kill claims and registrations of new and improved formulations. Currently we are in the final stages of developing and registering a disinfectant pre-saturated wipe formulation and an improved toilet bowl cleaner and disinfectant.

A disinfectant for today and tomorrow

Glyclean® D is a disinfectant that will have staying power as regulations around the globe change. Glyclean® D is readily biodegradable, VOC exempt, listed as both an active and inert, and is registered both with the US EPA and part of the transition BPR process. Combined with PureTech Scientific’s long history and world lead capacity of production of Glycolic Acid, Glyclean® D is a clear choice for a new disinfectant active.


PureTech Scientific is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the production of an environmentally friendly and biodegradable portfolio of glycolic acid solutions.

The journey to sustainable glycolic acid production is driven by the growing consumer demand for sustainable, nature-identical, active ingredients. The route to sustainable glycolic is a long-term project, but PureTech Scientific has already taken the first step and is fully subscribed and contracted with Appalachian Power to be part of their renewable energy program. PureTech Scientific is slated to start receiving their first renewable energy credits in 2024 with full credits available by the end of 2025.
